Karyn Buxman, TEDx International Speaker, Author, Neurohumorist
Karyn Buxman is an international speaker, a successful author, and a pioneer in the field of applied humor. She has been hired by more than 500 organizations, including NASA, the Mayo Clinic, and the Million Dollar Roundtable to entertain, educate and inspire their people, and is one of only 39 women to be inducted into the National Speakers Association Speaker Hall of Fame.
Today Karyn helps leaders—and those they serve—achieve peak performance and optimum health through the art and science of applied humor. Her mission: To improve global health, business, and peace through laughter and heal the humor-impaired.
Years ago, she faced a crossroads between choosing a teaching career and a public speaking one. She went with the latter and has been teaching that “funny means money”—even in the corporate world.
Original, humorous stories abound in everyone’s lives, and anyone can create a story with universal humor. Knowing your audience is crucial when deciding what type of humor to use because you want to build trust, not “tear flesh”.
Karyn is in the National Speakers Association’s Speaker Hall of Fame and is a Diplomat at the American Institute of Stress. She is a proud recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. She serves on the advisory boards of the Invisible Disabilities Association and the American Happiness Association.
